Naxal killings: Police gird up their loinsSunday

NARASARAOPET: In the aftermath of Naxalites shooting down Bollapalli mandal president Thumma Rami Reddy to death on Saturday and amidst impending danger from the former to leaders of different political leaders in the vicinity of Narasaraopet, the police have girded up their loins.Special police parties have been undertaking intensive combing of villages and in Bollapalli forests for the extremists. Thorough search of incoming as well as outgoing vehicles is going on. Police are also conducting searches for Naxalites in residential areas and colonies of towns such as Piduguralla and Vinukonda besides Narasaraopet.Meanwhile, police circles are apprehending danger to the lives of even those politicians who are in the second line of leadership. In this process, police believe that some top leaders of this town are in the Naxalites’ hit list. Suspecting such a threat, some political leaders have already approached the local police seeking security measures such as provision of gunmen. Allaying the fears among leading politicians, SP Sivadhar Reddy had promised to provide gunmen to the needy.
